The sudden invasion of heavily Catholic Graz by 10,000 Buddhists went off with few hitches, although there were a few dissenters, like this Christian Fundamentalist Protester at the Initiation.

The site, in the shadow of a Catholic Church, where the sand from the Kalachakra Mandala was, according to tradition, deposited into a body of water, in this case the River Mur, after the initiation was over.
