Shambhala Thangka in Yonghegong Temple

Although this thangka is apparently kept at Yonghegong Temple (a.k.a Lama Temple) in Beijing it is not now on public display. The provenance of this thangka is unknown.

On this thangka the Final Battle against the enemies of the Dharma takes place to the left of Shambhala and not at the bottom, as on most Shambhala Thangkas

In this thangka the Towns of Shambhala are separated by rivers and not mountain ranges, as on most Shambhala thangkas. Also, the usual eight towns are not clearly delineated.
